1,001 Days of Awesome Reads - Day 205 - #SelfCareSunday
#SelfCareSunday - Spotlighting books - and other tools! - past and present that help focus on finding more joy, being more productive, expressing gratitude and living a better, more authentic life.
Earlier this week, people in the know celebrated World Gratitude Day (9/20), so I thought it would be nice to share the book by the happy folks at Live Happy, who are vocal fans of World Gratitude Day, as well as gratitude in general, and happiness. They’re proponents of finding happiness, and offer news on mindfulness, health and wellness, gratitude and resilience.
Haven’t discovered Live Happy? Check them out: livehappy.com/who-we-are
I’ve ordered a few things from them over the years, and I pull out this lovely book— 50 happiness facts & quotes — every so often to peruse the quotes and notes, good reminders of the power of love, creativity, gratitude and purpose.
Always a good idea!
Happy reading! xoxo

Since November is nearly here (you know it’s going to come much quicker than we’re expecting!), I wanted to share Live Happy’s 14-day Gratitude Challenge
November is National Gratitude Month. Practicing daily gratitude gives us a deeper connection to ourselves and the world around us. Research has shown that exercising gratitude regularly can enhance our moods, strengthen social bonds, and improve physical health.
Take the 14-day challenge and share your favorite moments with us on social media!
Day 1: Think of 2 challenges you’re grateful for and what positive things you learned.
Day 2: What skill are you grateful to have? Think about it and thank it.
Day 3: Every time you want to complain, swap it out for an affirmation.
Day 4: If you had a positive experience at a business, write a kind review.
Day 5: What foods are you thankful for? If you can, donate whatever it is to a food bank.
Day 6: Light your favorite candle.
Day 7: Think of 3 memories you’re most thankful for. If it involves someone, send them the memory via text.
Day 8: Say ‘thank you’ to someone when they least expect it.
Day 9: What exercise are you most thankful you’re able to do? Do it!
Day 10: Send a note to someone via snail mail telling them why you’re thankful to have them in your life.
Day 11: Spend time taking care of yourself.
Day 12: What are you thankful for regarding your job? Make a list.
Day 13: Think about the material comforts you’re thankful for. Make the list as long as possible.
Day 14: Challenge yourself to start noticing what you’re grateful for more often.
You can see all the books I’ve written about so far in my 1,001 Days of Awesome Reads project, which launched 2/14/22:

About Bobbi Dumas
Hi! I’m Bobbi and I read, review, blog about and advocate for fiction written by women. I’ve written for NPR, Barnes & Noble and The New York Times Book Review, and wrote over 600 reviews for Kirkus and also penned the weekly Kirkus Romance (and Women’s Fiction) blog for a few years before parting ways with them in 2020. I believe that romance novels are (mostly) by women, for women, about women and of interest to women, and offer more hope, female agency and positive change than any other literary genre.
Women write great books, yet typically get less respect (and less review ink) than men do. While I do occasionally read books by men, I try to spotlight books by women and hold them up for the attention and appreciation they deserve.
I hope you’ll follow this space and find great new books to dive into.
Let’s read! xoxo
